1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
- I imagine art as an enhancement to my classroom. I think art can help students internalize topics and make certain lessons more meaningful. I think art can help connect the learner to the greater theme being learned.
2. What do you know about integrated learning / integration?
- Integrated learning involves using various materials to explore a broader theme. Integrated learning is more meaningful and allows students to express themselves. I have heard integrated learning described as learning in different "languages" (music, art, symbols, dance, etc.)

- I have only taken a couple art classes before in high school. I really enjoy making art, however, I have no concept of what makes art good.

- In my art classes I learned about various artists and their styles. This was a very long time ago, so I do not remember much of the content I learned. I absolutely love going to Art Museums, and I find art fascinating to observe!

1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
- I envision art used in my classroom through integration of other subjects to form big ideas such as family, celebrations, stories, relationships, and other concepts connected across cultures. Art will not serve the purpose of making my classroom full of decorations or a simple fun activity for my students to work on (although art is very fun). Art will become an educational interaction in which my students become greater explorers of life.
- Integration is the act of combining two or more subjects such as literacy, art, science, math, etc. to achieve a greater learned idea. There are core subjects emphasized in classrooms including literacy and math, however other subjects like art can be integrated into these literacy lessons to help teach a big idea.

- I still have trouble finding a beginning idea for my artwork, however my confidence has increased so much. I absolutely love using the objects I have in reach to form some type of art piece unique to me. Creating art is so much fun and so inspiring when a big idea can be attached to the process.
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
- My comfort level in analyzing and discussing art has developed so much through the use of VTS in class. When I have the opportunity to sit in front of a never-before-seen work of art and talk about what I see while listening respectfully to others' ideas about the work, is very freeing and exciting. I feel like a detective trying to solve the mystery of the artwork. What do we see? What's going on? Why do we think that? What more can we find? These are the questions that I have become comfortable answering in my own words.
